{"id":3519,"date":"2021-06-02T11:00:37","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T11:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/?p=3519"},"modified":"2021-06-03T10:47:26","modified_gmt":"2021-06-03T10:47:26","slug":"ascef-manifesto-expansion-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/en\/ascef-manifesto-expansion-airport\/","title":{"rendered":"The ASCEF adheres to the manifesto advocating for the expansion of Josep Tarradellas Barcelona &#8211; El Prat Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Catalonian Association of Family Business (ASCEF)<\/strong><\/a><\/u> has adhered to the manifesto advocating for the expansion of <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aena.es\/en\/josep-tarradellas-barcelona-el-prat.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport<\/strong><\/a><\/u>; together with over 200 organizations representing the economic sphere and the manufacturing network of Barcelona City and Catalonia in general.<\/p>\n<p>Under the clamor &#8220;<strong><em>Yes to the airport&#8217;s expansion agreement<\/em><\/strong>&#8220;, we demand a major institutional accord among the public administrations (<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aena.es\/en\/passengers\/passengers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Aena<\/strong><\/a><\/u>, <u><a href=\"https:\/\/web.gencat.cat\/en\/inici\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Generalitat de Catalunya<\/strong><\/a><\/u>, <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amb.cat\/en\/web\/guest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>\u00c1rea Metropolitana de Barcelona<\/strong><\/a><\/u> and city councils of <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Barcelona<\/strong><\/a><\/u> and Baix Llobregat) that involves the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/european-union\/index_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>European Union<\/strong><\/a><\/u> authorities in order to approve the Barcelona Airport&#8217;s expansion.<\/p>\n<p>The expected expansion consists of a new satellite terminal and a 500-meter expansion of one of the parallel ramps, with an estimated investment of \u20ac1.7 billion that <strong>would create 83,000 direct jobs and a total of 350,000 new employments, besides spurring the Catalonian GDP in more than two points, 8.9% up from 6.8%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This expansion will not only allow the region to become a sustainable touristic destination but will also invigorate the economic activity by creating jobs, attracting and retaining talent and international investment.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday July 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, the manifesto was read during a joint event at <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esade.edu\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>ESADE<\/strong><\/a><\/u>, attended by <strong>ASCEF<\/strong> President, <strong>Amadeu Jori<\/strong>, on behalf of the Association.
