{"id":2726,"date":"2020-11-23T17:48:03","date_gmt":"2020-11-23T17:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/?p=2726"},"modified":"2020-12-04T11:53:24","modified_gmt":"2020-12-04T11:53:24","slug":"amadeu-jori-efe-family-businesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/en\/amadeu-jori-efe-family-businesses\/","title":{"rendered":"16% of Catalan family businesses are at risk of closure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen per cent of Catalan family businesses run the risk of shutting down in 2020 due to restrictions on activity caused by the Covid-19 pandemic according to estimates by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><strong>Catalan Association of Family Businesses (ASCEF)<\/strong><\/u><\/a>, its President, Amadeu Jori, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efe.com\/efe\/espana\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><strong>EFE news agency<\/strong><\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He said that ASCEF is calling on the Government for greater coordination and contact with social agents &#8220;<em>who are the ones who really know first-hand what is happening.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jori also asked administrations to provide financial injections to companies in difficulty, &#8220;<em>not only with loans but with direct subsidies<\/em>&#8221; as has been done in other European countries. &#8220;<em>If economic activity is restricted in order to protect health, measures must be taken to prevent economic activity from collapsing,<\/em>&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The news was echoed in the media, both in general outlets such as <em><strong>La Vanguardia<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>Diari Ara<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>El Pa\u00eds<\/strong><\/em>, and economic ones such as <strong><em>Expansi\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen per cent of Catalan family businesses run the risk of shutting down in 2020 due to restrictions on activity caused by the Covid-19 pandemic according to estimates by the Catalan Association of Family Businesses (ASCEF), its President, Amadeu Jori, told the EFE news agency.
