{"id":2076,"date":"2020-05-18T12:17:23","date_gmt":"2020-05-18T12:17:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/?p=2076"},"modified":"2020-07-17T12:35:53","modified_gmt":"2020-07-17T12:35:53","slug":"tv3-opinion-ascef-crisis-covid19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/en\/tv3-opinion-ascef-crisis-covid19\/","title":{"rendered":"TV3 canvasses ASCEF\u2019s opinion on the state of family businesses during the COVID-19 crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccma.cat\/tv3\/planta-baixa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><strong>Planta Baixa<\/strong><\/u><\/a> programme on Catalan station <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccma.cat\/tv3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><strong>TV3<\/strong><\/u><\/a> has discussed the situation of family businesses in the region with regard to the current pandemic and has canvassed the opinion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ascef.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><strong>ASCEF<\/strong><\/u><\/a> as the entity that represents them. <strong>Amadeu Jori<\/strong>, <strong>ASCEF<\/strong>\u2019s President, highlighted the power of family businesses in the economy &#8220;<em>because <strong>if family businesses fail, the wheels of the economy stop turning and the country falls apart<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; Mr Jori also said that 2020 &#8220;<em>will be a very tough year<\/em>&#8221; as according to official data &#8220;<em>86% of companies have seen their activity reduced during the pandemic and 42% of these have suffered falls of over 60%<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1998, the <strong>ASCEF<\/strong> comprises over 100 companies that represent the Catalan business community. These companies play an important role in the country&#8217;s economy as they are committed to wealth creation, employment, the region and sustainability.
